WHO ARE WE?
A LITTLE ABOUT WHO WE ARE:
As a 3d scanning company, we are young but as far as 3d scanning and 3d cad is concerned, we have over 20 years of experience. The compony consists of just two people: Jessica Yates who keeps the day to day running of the company in check and myself - Alex MacPherson. I'm a Mechanical design engineer with 20 years of experience under my belt working in many industries ranging from nuclear to automotive to film to name but a few.
WHERE DID AJ-3D COME FROM:
As well as AJ-3D, I am also co-owner and technical director for Bullitt Customs Ltd. We design and build high end custom cars, hot-rods and race cars and when asked, pretty much anything with an engine. Over the years, I've been heavily involved with 3d scanning and as Bullitt Customs grew, it was clear that we needed to have it in house to eliminate the huge costs involved with having external companies do our scanning for us. Almost as soon as we purchased the scanner and word got around that we had the technology, we started being asked to scan for other people. It's due to this that AJ-3D was born to keep the 3D scanning a separate entity to Bullitt Customs.
MY BACKGROUND:
As someone who has used many different organisations in the past and on many occasions worried about the company's background and actual expertise and qualifications, I think it's very important to be 100% transparent.
I originally trained and earned my degree in Automotive design. After a few years I started my career in Design engineering where I was fortunate enough to work for some fantastic companies, building my skill set along the way. Having the correct tools for the job is only half the task, the second and arguably more important half is the ability to take the time to hone your skills and having the attention to detail to make sure that everything piece of work you do is done and finished to the highest standards. Here at AJ-3D we don't believe in the 'that will do' attitude, if it's not to the standard that we would expect for ourselves, it's not finished.
OUR AIM AND PROMICE TO OUR CUSTOMERS:
3D scanning has come a long way over the last 5-10 years but unfortunately so has the cost of having it done. Our aim is to provide people and organisations with good quality 3d scanning and cad services at competitive prices.
